Pei Zhuangxin was born in Sichuan, China, in 1956, and lives and works in Beijing and New York. In 1971, he went to Tibet for work. In 1978, he was admitted to the Oil Painting Department of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. After graduation, he returned to Tibet. In 1989, he won a full scholarship from the US-China Cultural Education Exchange Foundation and studied at the Department of Art at the State University of New York. Then he lived in the United States for nearly two decades. His works have been exhibited many times at the National Art Museum of China. The main collections include the Tibet Exhibition Hall, the Art Museum of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, and Rutgers University (New Jersey State University).
